An accomplished human resource manager and administrator, Esther’s natural warmth and efficiency keeps the School of Thought office in great shape.

how we began
We began the School of Thought because we were troubled by the indifference many young people showed towards Singapore, the world and Life in general.
We hated how so many of them grew up to be disenchanted, apathetic adults who were selfish, materialistic - and proud of it.
Since 2002, we have been constantly refining an unusual tuition programme that would help students think more critically and broadly about both national and global affairs - without sacrificing good grades on the exam paper.
Though we did not know it then, what we also started was a social enterprise . From the start and till today, part of SOT’s profits go into supporting an in-house Financial Aid Scheme that students may apply for if their families are experiencing severe financial difficulties and cannot afford tuition.

Currently, SOT has grown into a small collective of four businesses. Every thing that we do, every entity that we set up has the goal of spreading civic education and world awareness at its very heart.
